Statistics

Inspiration for this post comes from our real life Facebook page, which we checked for the first time in ages on Friday (our birthday), and which was found to contain Happy Birthday comments from over 50 so-called friends. Yes, all of those comments came from actual people, but actual friends?  Not even close.  In fact, let's break it down so that we can analyze it properly.

Number of Birthday Wishes/comments/pics posted on our Facebook page=56.
Number of those people whose name we actually recognize=47.
Number of those people whom we've actually hung out with, in real life, ever=40.
Number of those people we've hung out with in the past 5 years=19
Number of those people we actually communicate with currently, either in person or online=16.
Number of those people whose phone numbers we have=12.
Number of those people we've actually called, ever=6.
Number of those people we've actually called in the past year=3.
Number of those original 56 people who actually "know me"=2 or less.

  1. Most of my friends on facebook are family members. I kind of wish they would go away.
